About Fort2Base

The second annual Fort2Base Race will be held on Chicago’s beautiful North Shore on Sunday, September 23. Challenge yourself to either the 10 nautical mile (11.5 miles) or 3 nautical mile (3.45 miles) event.

Event highlights include:

Run through and finish at Great Lakes Naval Station
Runner and walker friendly
Men’s and women’s sized long-sleeved technical shirts
Finisher medals for all participants

3rd Annual Strike Out ALS 5K at U.S. Cellular Field

On July 10, runners in the 3rd Annual Strike Out ALS 5K will have the rare opportunity to run the grounds surrounding U.S. Cellular Field and finish on the warning track. The race will start at 6:30p.m. at the iconic home plate of Comiskey Park.

Following the race, runners can celebrate with family, friends and White Sox fans at a one-of-a-kind party featuring the 2012 MLB All-Star Game under the lights of the ballpark. The concession stands will be open and the game will be broadcast on the Jumbotron.

Admission to the post-race party is free for runners and donations will be accepted at the gate for non-runners. All proceeds from the Strike Out ALS 5K will benefit the Les Turner ALS Foundation to help support research, patient services and educational programs for people with ALS (Lou Gehrig’s disease).

To register in advance, visit http://www.StrikeOutALS5k.org. Advance registration is $40 and race day registration is $50. On-site registration will open at 5:30pm. Each Strike Out ALS 5K participant will receive a commemorative t-shirt.

Runners are encouraged, but not obligated, to fundraise for the cause. The following prizes will be awarded to the top fundraisers:

Top three fundraisers will be allowed on the field before the August 7, 2012 White Sox game for a photo with a current player and recognition of their efforts.
Fourth and fifth place fundraisers will each receive an autographed Paul Konerko
Runners who raise a minimum of $500 will be provided with White Sox ticket vouchers, furnished by Comcast, redeemable for two Upper Deck Reserved tickets at the box office (select game and based on availability).
